Rode is served by two bus services, the D2 (operated by First Bus) and the X34 (operated by Faresaver).
D2 Service (Bath to Frome via Rode)
Since the beginning of April 2023 Rode has been served by an enhanced D2 service. In addition, a D2X service operates from Beckington*, running directly to Bath along the A36 (and to Frome in the opposite direction). The D2 timetables which came into force on 1st September 2024 slightly reduced the services through Rode, but nevertheless the village remains well-connected by public transport to Bath, Frome, Chippenham, and places in between.
*NB: Whilst the A36 is closed at Limpley Stoke the D2X service will not be operating via Beckington (instead, travelling from Frome to Bath via Radstock).

Certain services are operating with government support, so there is always a risk that – if and when the support is withdrawn – the services will be discontinued if they can’t generate a return for First Bus. As ever, it’s a case of “use it or lose it”. All single journeys are priced at £2 until 31st December 2024.
X34 Service (Chippenham to Frome via Rode)
The X34 serves Frome, Trowbridge, Melksham and Chippenham. The current timetable can be downloaded here:
