Beckington Tennis Association

Beckington Tennis Association was formed after many years of hard work by numerous Chairmen and committee members, and the courts were officially opened in July 2005.

This would not have been possible if local resident, Mrs Ruth Millet, had not generously donated the land to build the courts and pavilion on.

Funding for the two courts and pavilion came from the Foundation for Sport and the Arts, Mendip District Council, Beckington Parish Council and Awards for All. In addition to this funding were the generous upfront donations of £250 from many families in the local area. Although the donation allowed Lifetime Associateship of the BTA, many of the people who donated were not tennis players but simply wanted to support a great community project.

Residents of Rode (and some surrounding areas) qualify for discounted membership (£100 pa, instead of £120 pa). There is also a “pay and play” option, and coaching provided by LTA qualified coaches. Full details can be found here: https://clubspark.lta.org.uk/BeckingtonTennisAssociation
